SUPRA Final Event, 27/28th June 2012, the Netherlands

The SUPRA Final Event will be held on June 27th at TNO, Soesterberg, the Netherlands. The program includes keynotes from international experts and briefings by SUPRA scientists as well as ample opportunity to fly the SUPRA simulators and interact with the SUPRA team. The centrifuge simulator DESDEMONA in Soesterberg as well as the hexapod simulator GRACE in Amsterdam are available for demonstration of the simulation concept developed by SUPRA on June 27th and 28th. Third SUPRA Expert Meeting, Focus: Concept Evaluation, 12 January 2012, Soesterberg

SUPRA met with a group of international experts, including several test pilots to focus on the SUPRA final concept evaluation and deliver an update on the project status. The project also used this opportunity to fine-tune the simulator facilities at TNO and NLR.

EC Innovation Convention, 5-6 December 2011, Brussels

The SUPRA Project was chosen by the organizers and had a booth at the convention, including a desktop simulator where convention participants could fly the SUPRA simulation model.

EASA Safety Conference, 4-5 October 2011, Cologne

Second SUPRA Consortium meeting, September 14-16 2011, TsAGI

The project is on schedule: the SUPRA aerodynamic model and motion cueing algorithms have been prepared, and will be tested in the next period before the final evaluation in 2012. See the TsAGI press release of the meeting.

EUCASS, 4-8 July 2011, St. Petersburg

During the 4th European Conference on Aerospace Studies (EUCASS) a special session is dedicated to SUPRA.

ICATEE visits the Netherlands

In June 2011, the International Committee for Aviation Training in Extended Envelopes holds a 3-day meeting in the Netherlands, hosted by TNO, NLR, and KLM. See the press release.

AIAA Modeling & Simulation Technologies Conference, 2-5 August 2010, Toronto

SUPRA is represented with a paper/presentation on the progress within the project and the Upset Scenario Definition (WP 1) in particular, at the AIAA GNC/AFM/MST/ASC/ASE 2010 Conference .

RAeS Flight Simulation Technology Conference 2010

Again, the SUPRA-project is represented at the 2010 Flight Simulation Conference (RAeS Flight Simulation Group ) in London on June 9th and 10th.

SUPRA Clip on German Local Television RTF1

In December 2009 the German local TV station RTF1 (Reutlinger-Tuebinger-Fernsehen) brought a 2 minute report on the SUPRA project and the project partner Max Planck Institute of Biological Cybernetics. Please click here to watch the video (German only).

First SUPRA Expert Meeting

During the first SUPRA Expert meeting in Vienna, on November 9, 2009, experts from various aviation organisations participated in the discussion on which upset conditions are most relevant for pilot training. The consortium will use their input in the selection process of upset scenarios that will be further developed within the scope of SUPRA.

RAeS Flight Simulation Spring Conference 2009

The successful conference "Towards the Edge of the Envelope", organised by the RAeS Flight Simulation Group in London on June 3-4, 2009, was dedicated to the issue of upset recovery. The presentation of the SUPRA project was well received by the subject matter experts.
